The one that I have found that works well is the interrupting environmentalthreat. The combat is going bad in the volcano lair, it starts erupting. Barfight getting out of hand, it lights on fire and falling apart. Suddenly just the players don't have a problem, everyone has a problem.

Oh dear yes, other heath problems do not play nice with migraine. 'Being ill' tends to be a migraine trigger. Nasty double whammy of SUCK! :( :(

I'm fortunate in that lights do not seem to trigger a migraine (although they do aggravate it if I have one. Being on the edge of a diabetic hypo, on the other hand, can trigger one and that adds a whole new list of fun symptoms to the mix.

This is true. I'm pretty sure my mask would easily fit under a helmet like that though and the visor is transparent. Alternatively: facepainted version of mask. Then I suppose it just depends on whether they would allow a scarf to be tied over the top. Tape might be involved..

Does it seem like I've thought too much about this?.

FYI, we probably would have to create part of the costume utilizing the required safety helmets – but they could be painted , I suppose, to match the costume :-)
